Welcome to 2022! It was our hope to be starting a regular volleyball season, but unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic is once again preventing that. The current government restrictions are forcing us to adjust our program to ensure safety of all players and coaches.
Due to present and anticipated gathering limits, facility COVID protocols, and guidance from Volleyball Nova Scotia, we are planning to return to the court by January 30th. We are hoping that at this time gathering limits will be increased but we do have a plan in place should the limits temporarily remain at 10.
Our plan is to be able to provide each team with 2 practices/week with our focus will on skill development for the time being. Games may be an option as guidelines permit. Stoírm teams may also have the opportunity to compete in tournaments later in the season pending Public Health guidelines.
Who can Register?
Registration will be open January 12th to January 19th. Due to gathering limits and our current coaching capacity, we may have to cap registration within some age groups, so please register early.
We will work to try to accommodate all interested athletes.
After registration closes on the 19th, Stoírm coaches and Board Executive members will meet and divide the athletes into cohorts based on age, experience, and previous teams.
Please no phone calls or social media messages – please direct questions to our email, email@example.com.
How do I Register?
Registration will be through https://mysporthub.ca/ between January 12th (noon) and January 19th. If you are new, please take your time to acquaint yourself with this platform and payment process* (PayPal). If you need assistance with registration, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
*note that payments will not be requested/required until registrations are confirmed after January 19th. There will be additional communication regarding this at that time around scheduling, etc.
We will ask that you register your child in their appropriate age category, although some athletes may be bumped up depending on numbers.
Cost this season will be $200 per athlete. Partial refunds will be considered if Public Health Guidelines remain in place with cohorts of 10.
*Note if your daughter attended the 16U Selection Camp date on December 6th, you have already paid $15 of this season fee. Your remaining total is $185.
- Registration fee includes the $80 comp fee that is sent directly to Volleyball Canada ($32) and Volleyball Nova Scotia ($48)
- Remaining club fees: team shirt, first aid supplies, COVID supplies, admin costs (printing, etc.), monthly facility charges, coaching expenses and referee fees for club games, general costs associated with equipment replenishment, coaching courses/conferences, etc.
- Any additional team costs associated with travel for competition will be shared among participating athletes. If tournaments are able to be scheduled, the tournament fee will be shared among individual team members.
Cost for the season is $200.00 per athlete (see above note re: 16u athletes). There are no family rates this year for additional children.
For the 2022 season, Stoírm will only be accepting payment via PayPal. You do not need an account with this platform and can pay as a guest user.
Note that payment is not required until registration status has been confirmed, after registration closes.
You will receive an email and see the status change on your Sport Hub account when you are confirmed. Be sure to keep an eye on your junk mail, and mark us as a “safe sender” so future emails are not missed.
When you have received the confirmation email indicating you can now pay, please follow these steps:
The PayPal button is located on the Family Management page in the “Transaction Totals” chart (This chart is only visible after you have submitted registration.)
- Click the PayPal button and type the fee amount ($200)* into the “Price per item” field
*If you are paying for more than one participant, you can input the full amount (ex. 2 participants = $400, 3 participants = $600, etc.)
- Click continue.
Teams and Scheduling
Teams and practice dates/times will be determined once registration is complete. Groups will be notified as soon as possible about start dates and locations.
Note that we have gym times currently booked at Saint Andrew Junior School (SAJS), Antigonish Education Center (AEC) and East Antigonish Education Center (EAEC) each day except for Thursday and Saturdays.
Without the use of each of these locations we would not be able to accommodate the level of interest we see on an annual basis.
While we are not formally fundraising this season, we have joined Sport Nova Scotia’s SportSplit monthly 50/50 draw. It is a monthly, province-wide, multisport, online 50/50 raffle.
To buy tickets, go to www.sportsplit.ca, click “Buy Tickets Now” in the upper right-hand corner, choose your entry. At the end of the Billing Information section, you will see a drop-down menu titled “I would like to support:” and you can choose Antigonish Stoírm Volleyball. Thanks in advance for your support!
